Jody McQueen has spent every spring in the wilds of Canada tree planting as a source of health and wealth. This seasonal job allowed her time to explore, learn, create and deep dive into passions such as yoga, art and many healing modalities.
Coming to Kelowna, British Columbia seven years ago, was where her creative boost was ignited in leather work. Up-cycling vintage leather coats into beautiful purses and hand carving and tooling bracelets, journals and more. But, although this business was successful it wasn’t connecting Jody to her healing roots. This is when she happened upon a henna cone and her world was transformed!
Henna is an ancient healing art that creates a connection, allowing and letting go. After finding out about her Romani Gypsy and East Indian roots henna felt like the perfect transition. After three years of running a very successful henna business she found many customers asking her to draw their tattoos. This was exciting for her to have her designs being a permanent part of people’s lives. She felt the next step in this leveling up would involve actually tattooing her designs herself for her customers.
This is when divine intervention lead her to Candice Browne, The Ink Parlour, and the beginning of her Tattoo Apprenticeship!
